About TheDocs

TheDocs.io is an effort born from a simple idea: finding good open source documentation shouldn't be hard. We are building a central library for software docs, making them more discoverable, searchable, and consistent for developers everywhere.

Our Vision

Our vision is to accelerate learning and development in the open source world. High-quality documentation is often scattered across countless websites, wikis, and repositories. By collecting public documentation from GitHub and presenting it in a standardized, clean format, we aim to remove that friction.

Our Technology

We rely on an open source stack to bring this platform to life:

• GitHub: All documentation is sourced from public GitHub repositories, keeping content current and close to the code.
• MkDocs: We use MkDocs, a fast and straightforward static site generator, to build the documentation sites.
• ReadTheDocs Theme: The clean, familiar ReadTheDocs theme provides a consistent and accessible reading experience across all projects.
